1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Forge, a free, open-source, local-first workout planner and training log for Android and iOS (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Forge helps you plan workouts, log sets, and review your training history. Your data is stored on your device. Features include:
- Workout planning, live logging, and history.
- Body measurements, charts, volume, and personal records.
- Optional health integration through Apple HealthKit and Google Health Connect.
- Optional cloud sync through a compatible provider (disabled by default).
3. Licence
Forge is free and open-source software licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 3 (GPL-3.0). Your rights to use, copy, modify, and distribute the source code are governed by that licence. These Terms cover your use of the App as a product; they do not restrict the freedoms granted by the GPL-3.0.
4. User Responsibilities
As a user of the App, you agree to:
- Use the App only for lawful purposes.
- Take responsibility for your device and any data you enter.
- Keep your own backups of your data.
5. Your Data and Backups
The App stores data on your device. It is your responsibility to back up or export your data. Uninstalling the App, resetting your device, or a device fault may result in permanent loss of your data. We are not responsible for any loss of data stored on your device.
6. Health and Fitness Disclaimer
Forge is a tracking tool, not a medical device and not a source of medical advice. Information provided by the App — including calculated heart-rate zones, volume, personal records, and any charts or estimates — is for general informational purposes only. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning any exercise program or if you have any medical condition. You use the App and undertake any physical activity at your own risk.
7. Third-Party Platforms and Services
The App may integrate, with your permission, with third-party services such as Apple HealthKit and Google Health Connect. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. If you use a build that enables optional sync, the operator of that sync server is responsible for the handling of any data you choose to sync.
8. No Warranty
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. This reflects the "no warranty" terms of the GPL-3.0 licence. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developers and contributors of Forge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the App.
10. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
